On Tuesday 28 June I walked to class. I didn't have lunch. After class I swam, then had dinner at Rasa Sayang, then watched the play. There was a false alarm in the middle of the play. Nonetheless the play was wonderful. I took a bus back and reached home at about 11.

Monday 27 June was the day of the visit to the Law Commission. I swam before the visit. The visit was enlightening, but Jonathan Teasdale's lecture really stole the show. After his lecture I swam again, then went to the Gielgud to buy tickets for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. After that I had dinner (pizza) at an Italian restaurant.

On Sunday 26 June I had a bun from Tesco, then took the train to Rickmansworth for the Chess Valley Walk. The walk was long. It was spectacular at times. Lunch was pasta. I took the train back from Chesham, then had a massive dinner at Yipin Hunan.

On Saturday 25 June I walked to Kings Cross to meet Christabel for breakfast. I walked with her back to the Doubletree Hilton, pausing outside her old flat, then went to buy tickets to Mamma Mia for the afternoon. I met Bel again to walk to St Pancras, then took the Underground to Piccadilly Circus. I had a quick walk through the Pride parade route, then went to watch the musical at the Novello. After the musical I waited out the rain at Costa, then took a bus back to Angel.

Thursday 23 June was the day of the Brexit referendum. It was a rainy day. I ran along the Islington Canal for a mile or so and got soaked. I took bus 19 to the Institute and was 15 minutes late. During lunch I sat at Russell Square for a chat with Mohamed. Class ended at 130. I hesitated between a swim and a hike. I picked the latter and took the Underground to Theydon Bois. It was raining lightly. I started on the muddy Oak Trail. It was pleasant enough for a while. There were rolling hills, hares and horses. There were dandelions and roses. Bulls from a distance. Then I hit the road and couldn't find a way. I had to walk by the road for some way and then it started really pouring. I walked back to Theydon Bois along the road and took the Tube back. There were a lot more Leave signs in Theydon Bois. I had a warm shower, dinner, then slept.

On Wednesday 22 June I didn't run. I took bus 19 to the Institute and was slightly late. During lunch I went to the Student Central and arranged a private membership for 50 pounds. After class I went for a swim. Then I walked back, passing through Chapel Market where I got some fried chicken, and also through the lovely Culpeper Community Garden. After dinner I slept.

On Tuesday 21 June I ran to Finsbury Park in the morning, passing by Emirates Stadium. After breakfast I walked to the Institute. The classes were on the library resources. I had lunch at Brunswick Square with Amy. After class I walked to Leicester Square to purchase tickets to The Book of Mormon, passing through Chinatown. I tried my luck with Cursed Child tickets but to no avail. After getting the tickets I walked to Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and the Hungerford Bridge. I took a bus back from Piccadilly Circus. Back at Studd Street I got a meal deal dinner and changed into a suit and took a bus to the Royal Academy of Music near Regent's Park. I watched the Academy Bassoon Ensemble perform a delightful one hour concert.

On Monday 20 June I ran to Highbury Fields in the morning. It was cloudy. After breakfast I took bus 30 to Euston. The bus terminated one stop early. It was raining more heavily than I expected and without an umbrella or a coat, I got soaked on the walk to school. I found the Institute. The first day consisted of introductions, lunch and a library tour. After class I went back to Studd Street, than took a bus to London Fields. I got off a few stops too early and jogged the rest of the way. The ticket cost 4.80. After a swim I went back, got a meal deal at Tesco and slept.

19 June

After an uneventful but long flight I arrived at Heathrow at about 5 am. I watched Eddie the Eagle, The Big Short and The Hangover Part 3 on the plane. I took the Piccadilly Line to Angel. The change of trains at King's Cross took a while.

Rachel was waiting when I arrived. Everything is in order as expected. The room is very small as advertised. The house is clean. Angel is a nice chic area. I took a long nap thenwalked down Upper Street and visited St Mary's Church and the adjoining garden. I had an afternoon breakfast at Workers Cafe.
